Fly Creek Cider Mill team members and friends enjoyed their first overnight motorcoach trip touring the Niagara Peninsula and breathtaking Niagara Falls the weekend of April 1st.
Each year the Mill invites its staff and friends to visit new tour destinations, agri-tourism attractions and retail locations for gaining knowledge through a "school-on-wheels" sharing experience. This year’s tour included the charming community of Niagara-on-the-Lake to experience world class wineries and small boutique retail shops. A stop at Kurtz Orchard & Gourmet Marketplace exposed the group to top notch farm-direct marketing. "Visiting these fabulous wineries and Kurtz Orchard gave us great ideas to use at the Mill to improve customer service and product offerings. I can’t wait for next year’s trip," said Lin Molloy, a team leader at the Mill.
The Niagara Falls Butterfly Conservatory, a warm tropical paradise fluttering with over 150 varieties of butterflies, was fascinating. The group enjoyed an overnight at the Falls with all the fun and excitement that the city offers including gaming at the new Fallsview Casino and its sumptuous grand buffet.
"This annual trip gives us all a boost of energy and excitement for our upcoming 150th anniversary season opening May 12th. Exploring and learning new ideas from such a popular tourism destination as Niagara will be a great asset to the Mill," says Bill Michaels, co-owner of the Mill.
The Fly Creek Cider Mill, re-opening on May 12th, is located just minutes from Cooperstown and offers visitors a wide array of Pride of New York Products including aged cheddar cheese, freshly made fudge, salsas, grilling sauces, apple wines, hard ciders and plenty of sweet cider.
